The hotels used on our tours will meet the standard of a good, three-star European hotel. Guestrooms will have private bathrooms, telephones and a TV. The vast majority will also have tea/coffee-making facilities. There will always be a bar or restaurant on site or nearby.
DoubleTree by Hilton, Buena Park (nights 1-3)
Well located close to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm theme park, this hotel offers an ideal base from which to explore Los Angeles and its surrounding areas. Guests can dine at the hotel’s casual restaurant, which serves classic American cuisine, or find a cocktail at its sleek bar. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness suite. Guestrooms are well-equipped, and have tea/coffee-making facilities, TVs, and minifridges.
Riviera Resort & Spa, Palm Springs (night 4)
This hotel, designed in the same style as Vegas favourites such as The Flamingo, The Sands and The Stardust by architect Irwin Schuman, became a hotspot for celebrities and sophisticates alike upon opening in 1959 and was often visited by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Smith. Boasting impressive gardens and a large swimming pool area, the hotel also benefits from a poolside bar and restaurant as well as a gym. All of the comfortable guestrooms have a mini-fridge and tea/coffee-making facilities.
The Ellsworth Hotel, Williams (nights 5-6)
Housed in a historic, lovingly restored building, this hotel is set right on Route 66 in the small downtown with many restaurants nearby. Wyndham Hotel, Visalia (night 9)
This modern hotel boasts indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a bar area and a restaurant, serving regional Californian classics. All guestrooms are furnished with TVs, tea/coffee-making facilities and free Wi-Fi.
El Capitan Hotel, Merced (night 10)
Set in the heart of charming Merced, this modern hotel offers the ideal base from which to enjoy the scenic wonders of Yosemite National Park.
